Profile:

A consultant haematologist with a degree of FIBMS (MD, PhD) in medical specialisation. Since I have been a medical doctor, my principal responsibilities are focusing to ensure the best quality of life through medical care for the patients and the community. To secure these responsibilities, I am working as a medical lecturer and researcher putting my efforts, as much as I can, to upgrade and update my knowledge and inspiring both medical under- and postgraduates and the healthcare professionals’ colleagues to do so or more. Medical care or education is regarded as one of the most important fields that touch and connect the lives of all human beings.

  • Fellow of the Iraqi Board for Medical Specialization in Haematology (FIBMS / Haematology), Baghdad, Iraq, 1999.
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB), Mosul, Iraq, 1990.

2018 to date; Consultant Haematologist, The National Center of Haematology (National Laboratory Project), University of Mustansiriyah, Baghdad, Iraq.

2000-2006; Trainer and Advisor of the Haematology Department Laboratory in Al-Ramadi Teaching General Hospital and Al Ramadi Teaching Hospital for Maternity and Children and Member of the Medical City Laboratory team for; Haematological Research, Diagnosis and treatment follow up of Haematological disorders, Teaching Laboratories, Medical City Teaching Hospital Complex, Baghdad.

1994-2003; Specialist (FIBMS) and Senior House Officer in Haematology, Teaching Laboratories, and Clinical Haematology and Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Department, Clinical Haematology Department and Al-Mansour Paediatric Hospital, Medical City Teaching Hospital Complex, Baghdad. The experiences include the work in general haematology, hemoglobinopathies, coagulation and transfusion medicine. The Medical City Teaching Hospital Complex, Baghdad (Medical City Hospital) is the largest hospital in Iraq with 1400 beds and its Haematology department is the largest Referral center in the country with 100 beds, and it receives around 3000 BM Aspirates/Biopsies annually. The medical complex includes the national Blood bank, and the national inherited bleeding disorders care center, Referral Haemoglobinopathy diagnostic unit, and the main referral Pediatric Haematology/Oncology unit).
